Our mission is simple: make downloading a Google Sheet as fast and frictionless as possible — for everyone, everywhere, for free. Google Sheets is used by hundreds of millions of people, but exporting a sheet still requires navigating menus, signing in, or installing extensions. SheetsBox removes all of that. The site was created after noticing that downloading a shared Google Sheet — something people do every day — was unnecessarily complicated for anyone without a Google account or access to the Google Sheets app.

Downloading a Google Sheet shouldn't require a Google account, a browser extension, or navigating four levels of menus. Yet for millions of people — students receiving shared class data, analysts working with external datasets, developers testing spreadsheet imports, or anyone on a public computer — these barriers are very real.
SheetsBox exists to remove every one of those barriers. If the sheet is publicly shared, you can download it in seconds. No sign-in. No installation. No watermarks. Works on any browser, any device, any operating system.
You paste the Google Sheets URL into the SheetsBox input field. The URL must be from a Google Sheet that is publicly shared ("Anyone with the link can view").
SheetsBox extracts the spreadsheet ID from the URL (and the tab ID if you've selected a specific worksheet). It constructs a direct export request to Google's own export API endpoint at docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/.
Your browser connects directly to Google's servers — not to SheetsBox. The file downloads straight from Google's infrastructure to your device. SheetsBox is never in the middle of that transfer and never sees your spreadsheet data.
The file saves to your device in your chosen format — XLSX for Excel, CSV for data tools, PDF for printing or sharing, or ODS for LibreOffice.
Privacy is not an afterthought — it is built into how SheetsBox works at a technical level.
Downloads go directly from Google's servers to your browser. Your spreadsheet content never passes through our servers.
The Google Sheets URL you paste is never stored, logged, or shared by SheetsBox.
We never ask for your name, email, or any personal information. No sign-up, ever.

XLSX — Microsoft Excel format. Preserves formulas, formatting, and styles. Compatible with Excel, LibreOffice, Numbers, and Google Sheets itself.
CSV — Plain text data. Ideal for databases, Python scripts, SQL imports, Power BI, Tableau, and any data tool. No formatting — just raw data.
PDF — Fixed layout for printing and sharing. The visual appearance of the sheet is preserved exactly. Opens in any browser or PDF reader.
ODS — OpenDocument Spreadsheet. Native format for LibreOffice and OpenOffice. Also supported by Microsoft Excel 2010 and later.
